Pfizer Healthcare Ireland is launching a nationwide initiative to tackle heart disease - Ireland’s leading cause of death. The national information campaign, entitled ‘Message from the Heart’, will involve a series of 20 heart health information meetings across the country between February and early April, and is being fronted by television personalities Mary Kennedy and Marty Whelan. |
| ‘Message from the Heart’ has been developed by Pfizer Healthcare Ireland to increase public awareness and understanding about heart health, and the steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of heart disease. |
Each meeting will feature a nutritionist who will give advice on healthy eating, exercise and stress management. A local cardiologist will also talk about the risk factors for heart disease and stroke and the preventative measures that people can take to help keep their heart healthy.
Paula and Kellie will both be giving presentations on healthy eating at many of the regional meetings.
